Willis-Knighton Health System is committed to creating an environment of scholarship and inquiry for our resident physicians, and in the process to develop our residency programs dedicated significant resources in this area. You can learn more about the organization’s commitment to research here.
In the first year of training, residents receive education in research methodology and medical literature review and engage in quality improvement, patient safety, cost of care and research activities in collaboration with a teaching faculty and resident peers. Residents are expected and encouraged to complete scholarly activity throughout their time in the program. The resident’s progress on completing the expected research project will be discussed and evaluated at monthly research meetings and during the semi-annual review with the program director. Our GME Research is led by Hosein Shokouh-Amiri, MD and Krystle Trosclair, PhD.
