Dr. Priyadarshee Y. Patel, MD

Program Faculty

Priyadarshee Patel, MD, specializes in diagnosing and treating complex neurovascular conditions, including stroke, aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVM), dural arteriovenous fistulas, carotid artery disease and other cerebrovascular disorders. She performs minimally invasive neurointerventional procedures and endovascular treatments to restore and preserve brain function.

Inspired by her physician parents, Dr. Patel’s path to medicine feels natural and deeply personal. As an interventional neurologist, she’s able to use her love of neuroscience in a specialty that demands precision, quick thinking and the ability to act decisively when every second counts. 

Following medical school in India, Dr. Patel completed a neurology residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Pennsylvania. She completed a vascular neurology fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, a nationally recognized comprehensive stroke center. Dr. Patel advanced her expertise with a second fellowship in neuroendovascular surgery at Henry Ford Health System in Michigan, where she trained in complex interventional neuroradiology techniques. She is board certified in neurology and vascular neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Patel remains at the forefront of innovation in stroke and cerebrovascular care. Her research is published in peer-reviewed journals, reflecting her commitment to improving outcomes for patients facing urgent and often life-altering neurological conditions. 

Outside of medicine, Dr. Patel enjoys traveling and hiking with her husband, as well as reading science fiction, historical novels and adventure stories. She treasures her childhood memories of exploring remote destinations with her sister and parents – moments filled with joy, curiosity and connection.
