Program Goals and Objectives

The goals and objectives of the Advanced Specialty Program in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery are designed to provide the resident trainee with clinical experience in broad scope oral & maxillofacial surgery and anesthesia, along with a didactic background in basic sciences, medicine, and anesthesia. The program will train residents to competence in the specialty of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery as delineated by the requirements set by the American Dental Association’s Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), along with American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons’ Benchmarks for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Education and Training. The graduating students from this program should be proficient in all aspects of Oral &Maxillofacial Surgery as evaluated by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
