Eric D. Thomas, MD, is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, who graduated from Captain Shreve High School. As a decorated Air Force veteran, Dr. Thomas served his country in support of Desert Storm, Desert Shield and Desert Calm. After completing his military career, he continued his education at the University of Detroit Mercy. Dr. Thomas earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. While at Wayne State, he completed a combined internal medicine and pediatrics residency program with Detroit Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He is a board-certified internist (American Board of Internal Medicine) and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP).
After 20 years away from home, Dr. Thomas returned to Shreveport to work in academic medicine doing what he truly loves -- caring for patients and teaching residents. He trained and mentored many of the top physicians in the Shreveport/Bossier area for 12 years before joining the Willis-Knighton team to help secure the inaugural internal medicine residency class. He continues leadership with Willis-Knighton's Graduate Medical Education program.
Dr. Thomas enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball and listening to music. He looks forward to providing excellent care for patients and working with internal medicine residents.
