Message from the Program Director and Chair of Academic Medicine

Dr. Neeraj SinghThank you for your interest in the Internal Medicine Residency program at Willis Knighton Health. As an inaugural program we are committed to provide an excellent educational experience to our “new” class of residents in a collegial supportive environment, and to transform them into confident, competent, well rounded physicians and leaders in healthcare. The Willis Knighton Health prides itself on being named in honor of Doctors Willis and Knighton. It is the largest health system in Northern Louisiana, consisting of four acute care hospitals and a rehabilitation hospital that offer full range of various sub-specialty, primary care, and rehabilitation services. It has often been “first” in bringing the latest technology and medical therapies to the area. Over decades, Willis Knighton Health has remained committed to promoting the education of residents, fellows, and medical students. We have a strong research department to help students and residents gain experience in various research and quality improvement projects. Our virtual simulation hospital is world class, equipped to train you in a broad range of skills needed during real-life scenarios. The residents’ curriculum has been designed with innovative content to enrich the training experience while keeping in mind the wellbeing of our residents. Inclusion and diversity, teamwork, respect, and compassion are the guiding principles of our program. Given our institutional strengths, strong leadership, diverse patient population, and our core values, we are confident that the Internal Medicine residency program at Willis Knighton Health System will be an outstanding one. I welcome you to join us and become part of our incredible Willis Knighton family.
