Danielle Thomas, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician with eight years of experience dedicated to providing comprehensive healthcare to patients in rural Louisiana. A graduate of Ross University School of Medicine, she completed her residency and internship in Rural Family Medicine through LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport.
Originally from Idaho, Dr. Thomas and her husband chose to settle in Louisiana, where she began her practice in Minden. In 2024, she joined Homer Medical Clinic (HMC), a prominent rural health clinic affiliated with Claiborne Memorial Medical Center. Her extensive training in obstetrics, pediatrics, geriatrics, emergency medicine, and internal medicine equips her to treat a diverse range of patients. In early 2025, she contributed to the establishment of Lagniappe Medical Clinic (LMC) in Minden, where she now splits her clinical responsibilities.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Thomas is actively involved in the community as an emergency room physician, inpatient caregiver, and home health provider. She also serves as a preceptor for third-year medical students, fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals. A passionate advocate for breast cancer awareness, she promotes the importance of annual mammograms and early detection during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
In her personal life, Dr. Thomas enjoys spending time with her husband, Nic, and their daughter, Kiara. The family loves to travel and actively supports Kiara in her dance studies.
