Donald Scott Haynes, MD is a board-certified internal medicine physician who has served the Claiborne Parish community for more than two decades. He earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at LSU Health Sciences Center Shreveport.

A native of Claiborne Parish, Dr. Haynes returned home in 2000 after completing his training to practice alongside his brother and late father at Claiborne Family Medical Clinic. There, he provides comprehensive medical care and is dedicated to ensuring patients in north Louisiana have access to high-quality healthcare close to home. In addition to his clinic practice, Dr. Haynes has served in several leadership roles within the community’s healthcare facilities. He has provided care in the emergency department and has served as Medical Director of the Intensive Care Unit, as well as Medical Director for rehabilitation and long-term care services in the region. His work spans acute hospital care, outpatient medicine, and post-acute rehabilitation, reflecting his commitment to continuity of care for patients throughout Claiborne Parish.

Known for his commitment to rural healthcare, Dr. Haynes has dedicated his career to ensuring that residents of north Louisiana have access to high-quality medical care close to home. He and his family are proud to call Claiborne Parish home. In his spare time, Dr. Haynes enjoys hunting, reading, cheering on the LSU Tigers, and spending time with his family.
