Dr. Savita Thorat, MD, earned her medical degree from Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences in India. After working as a general physician in rural India for 3 years, she moved to the United States. Dr. Thorat completed her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (2012) and the American Board of Integrated and Holistic Medicine (2016). Dr Thorat worked as a family physician in full spectrum primary care after graduation. She joined the Quick Care team with Willis Knighton Health System in 2014 when she and her husband moved to Shreveport/Bossier. She has continued her interest in learning integrative approaches of patient care, and is board certified by the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine (2021). Since teaching is her passion, she also works as a part time faculty preceptor at Willis Knighton Internal Medicine Residency Program and as a Core Faculty for the Willis Knighton Rural Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Thorat enjoys yoga, cooking and spending time with her family when not working.
