Catherine Speights, M.D. is a board-certified family physician with twenty-five years of dedicated service in healthcare, combining extensive medical expertise with a compassionate approach. Dr. Speights has been a steadfast advocate for the health and well-being of her community. After earning her medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical School in Shreveport, she completed her residency and internship in Baton Rouge.

Dr. Speights began her career in the Emergency Department at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. She then transitioned to urgent care as a physician with Lake After Hours in Baton Rouge, later advancing to Medical Director and physician at Willis-Knighton Quick Care, a role she has held since 2012. In July 2023, she joined the Willis-Knighton Academic Clinic as a preceptor, and in July 2024 she became core faculty for the Willis-Knighton/Claiborne Family Medicine Residency Program.

During the COVID pandemic, Dr. Speights served as a sub-investigator in a clinical study evaluating treatment for COVID-19. She is a member in good standing with the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians, and she also belongs to the Shreveport Medical Society.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Speights finds joy in the simple pleasures of life— spending time with her family and friends, caring for her beloved dogs, and going to rock concerts, where live music leaves her feeling completely energized.
